  1. Genetics can play a Large Role in the Development of Under Eye Circles

Did you realize that the circles under your eyes may be caused by genetics? There are a variety of hereditary conditions that can lead to an increased level of darkness under a person’s eyes. Generally, people who have Mediterranean genes in their gene pool will be at an increased risk for these circles. There is good news for people who are experiencing under eye circles as a result of genetic problems. Many dermatologists now offer laser treatments that are designed to change the pigment of a patient’s skin. This means a person will be able to get the skin under their eyes lightened to match the rest of their face. Consulting with a reputable dermatologist is the best way to find out more about these treatments and how to go about getting one.

  1. Eczema Can Lead to Irritation under Your Eyes

Eczema itself will not usually cause circles under your eyes, but the constant rubbing you do to minimize the itchiness associated with this condition can. If you are experiencing a lot of itching on your face due to this condition, it will usually result in the tissue under the eye becoming inflamed and swollen. The only way you will be able to stop this problem is by getting the right treatment for your Eczema. While there are a number of over the counter creams that can help with this condition, you will usually be much better off by working with a dermatologist. They will be able to prescribe medicated ointments to reduce the problems this skin condition causes.

  1. Problems with Bone Structure

Another very common cause of under eyes circles is a problem with your bone structure. Sometimes, the way a person’s face is shaped will lead to the formation of these dark circles. If a person has deep tear troughs under their eyes, it can lead to indentations that appear very dark. The best way to address bone issues like this is through the use of cosmetic fillers. A certified professional will be able to administer these fillers to even out the indentation you may have under your eyes due to your bone structure issues. Going in for a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon is a great way to find out what type of fillers they can use for this purpose.

  1. You Aren’t Protecting Your Skin From the Sun

Most people fail to realize just how sensitive their skin is when it comes to exposure to sunlight. The delicate skin that is underneath your eyes can become damaged over time due to prolonged exposure to UV rays. Instead of letting this type of damage occur, you need to get serious about wearing sunscreen on a regular basis. While it may be a bit time consuming to put on this sunscreen every morning, your skin will definitely thank you.

Finding the best treatments for dark under eye circles can be simplified with the help of a reputable and experienced dermatologist in your area.
