Dos & Don'ts Of Managing Bedwetting!!!

Bed wetting can become very stressful to a child and adult. Sometimes they feel like they are alone, that no one really understands them....even their parents or spouse. There is no reason for anyone to feel ashamed, there are many methods of helping bed wetters.

There are many Do & Don't when it comes to bed wetters:

DO's:

1) Be positive with your child and show understanding.

2) Talk to your child. It's helpful for your child to know if other family members have wet the bed. Let her/him know that many other children face this, and that it's not him/her fault.

3) Recognize success in other areas of childs life. Don't make your praise and encouragement focus around bed wetting. Celebrate other areas of his/her life which they may be succeeding in school,music,arts..etc...

4) Take the time to talk to your childs doctor.

DON'Ts:

1) Do not scold, embarrass or punish your child. This can be emotionally harmful for your child.

2) Do not allow other family members to tease your child.

3) Don't make your child feel guilty...bed wetting is a medical problem not a behavioral problem.

Last but not least....make sure to take time with your child, giving them as much support and love as possible.

Always speak to your childs physican for further information!!!

6 Signs you are dealing with a bed wetter........

Most parents are not aware that they may be dealing with a bedwetter. Often wetting the bed for the first time for some children is mistaken as a one time accident which in some cases is true but if it's happening more then once then most likely it is what we call Nocturnal Enuresis(bed wetting). Bed wetting affects an estimated 15 - 20 million people including about 4 million adults, however, there are many misconceptions about it.

6 SIGNS OF BED WETTING!!

1) Waking up every morning with soiled clothing.

2) Can't remember nighttime wetting incident in the morning.

3) Hiding soiled bed linen and clothing away from parents.

4) Mood changes, self-esteem issues and emotional problems.

5) Never wanting to spend the night with friends and family.

6) Having problems with focusing and concentration along with many other signs.

Bed wetting is caused by a sleep disorder and is usually genetic. Although some bed wetters will outgrow bed wetting, millions do not, and they suffer for years. Drugs may help temporarily, but they tend to be ineffective as a permanent remedy because they affect the symptoms and not the cause of the bed wetting.

If you are a parent who is dealing with a bed wetter.....be patient...I am working diligently trying to get the product ready!!!!

Remember: this is just my medical opinion always consult with your physician :)

Until next time: God Bless
